Deliciously Wicked Fun
This was a first for me; I picked this book up because of the cover. It reminded me of my favorite Brenda Joyce novel from back in the day, “The Conqueror”. Deliciously Wicked by Robyn DeHart was quite enjoyable. DeHart has managed to create a quartet of interesting female characters that are all members of the Ladies Amateur Sleuth Society, and like the name implies, they do a little bit of solving mysteries.

In this story, the mystery takes place inside a 19th-century chocolate factory outside of London. It was a unique location, and she did a splendid job reeling me in from the very beginning. The characters are sexy, and the hero, Gareth, definitely has a few secrets of his own. Meg (our heroine) I gues,s would qualify as a “hoyden” in the sense that she has free rein of her life (as much as can be had in the 1890’s), especially as an only child of the factory owner. The physical attraction between Meg and Gareth is palpable.
The plot moves along so quickly, I was almost loath to see the tension between the main characters end, but the love scenes are plenty steamy, so the author delivers there! As a compliment to the suspense in the story, I didn’t have the plot figured out before the end. By the last chapter or so, I think I had finally figured out who the villain really was, but by then, I wasn’t disappointed to have caught on. I am really looking forward to reading the tales of the rest of the Ladies Amateur Sleuthing Society.
